Aloha!

June 6, 2015

Hawaii truly is a magical place. My family and I all headed to Maui and Oahu for a week - our first time visiting the gorgeous islands! Here's a little bit of the beach and sunshine from Hawaii through some photos...

Maui was our first stop. We stayed in Lahaina, which in my opinion was the perfect location with walking distance to so many great restaurants on Front Street. Naturally on the first day, we went straight to Ka’anapali Beach to soak in the Hawaiian sun and enjoyed refreshing Mai Tai's by the pool. We rented a car during our stay (I highly recommend since driving through Maui is gorgeous) and managed to wake up one morning at 3AM to drive 2 hours to watch the sunrise over Haleakala National Park. The view was breathtaking and made waking up so early completely worth it. Also if you love snorkeling, Molokini - a crescent shaped volcanic crater - is the top snorkeling spot in Maui.

Now onto Oahu! From the city life to the relaxed-vibe and energy of the locals, Honolulu was my favorite. We made sure to stop at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck and Matsumoto Shave Ice in North Shore, and of course, made friends with locals at a traditional Hawaiian Luau - a great excuse for unlimited alcohol and food :)

The highlight of my entire trip was skydiving for the first time! There's no better way to jump out of an airplane than to views of mountain-tops and clear-blue ocean waters. It was truly an experience I'll always remember...and I'm SO happy to finally check something off my bucket list! I even have pictures to prove it.

Hope this post inspired you to either book your next summer vacation or to do something crazy...like jumping out of a plane!
